Founded in 1926, Domaine Fournier Père et Fils is located in the small wine-growing village of Verdigny, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation. The estate covers 39 hectares across 165 plots, benefiting from some of Sancerre’s finest terroirs. Committed to sustainable, organic practices, the winery focuses on preserving the unique qualities of its soils. Fournier Père et Fils blends tradition with innovation to produce renowned wines that capture the essence of French heritage.

VINEYARD

The vineyards of Domaine Fournier Père et Fils are evenly distributed across the three distinct terroirs of Sancerre, offering access to a diverse range of soils, slopes, and exposures. Located in a cool-climate region. Domaine Fournier follows organic (non-certified) methods that minimize chemical use. The region benefits from a variety of soils—Silex (flint), Caillottes (chalky limestone rocks), and Terres Blanches (calcareous marl)—as well as the unique microclimates created by its hills and the Loire River that runs along its right side. Starting in Sancerre, Fournier Père et Fils has gradually expanded its vineyards throughout the region, guided by the Burgundian philosophy of focusing on the distinct characteristics each vineyard and soil contributes to the wine. Today, Fournier produces a diverse range of wines, from entry-level offerings to single-vineyard selections, showcasing the remarkable variety of their terroirs.
